Visit of the jewel of colonial architecture, classified on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1979, Antigua Guatemala. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in the whole country. Its elegant architecture and its paved streets with rare traffic offer the opportunity for very pleasant walks. Three superb volcanoes dominate Antigua, Acatenango, Agua and Fuego (which shows constant activity).

Visits:
Central Park:  The park is completely bordered by elegant colonial buildings which were for more than two hundred years the epicenter of Spanish power in Central America. On the north side, you can admire the town hall, whose appearance has hardly changed since 1743. Opposite the hotel, on the south side, we find "El Palacio de Los Capitanes Generales" which dates from the 16th century. Towering to the side is the Cathedral, which was built in 1669.

Convent of Santa Clara: founded in 1699 by nuns from Mexico, destroyed several times by earthquakes, only ruins remain. Designed to accommodate forty-six nuns, it was very popular with women who had made a vow of retirement, but who wanted a minimum of comfort.

Church of la Merced: Dating from 1760, it is considered the most beautiful in Antigua with its facade decorated with stucco. With a bit of luck, you might be able to see a wedding there.

Santo Domingo Convent and the market craft market.

The Pacaya volcano, with a height of 2552 meters, is one of the 4 active volcanoes and the most climbed in Guatemala. It first erupted 23,000 years ago and has been one of the most active volcanoes in Central America for 500 years.

It is one of the most recommended volcanoes for its easy ascent and magnificent view of the neighboring volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. Along the way you will be able to enjoy nature and the exuberant vegetation. After an hour of walking, the ground changes to volcanic sand, you will walk on the cold lava fields, have the possibility to see the lava flows and you will eat roasted marshmallows on the hot stones of the volcano. The time to climb is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Lunch with Don David Garcia, who belongs to the community of San Vicente Pacaya and who shows us that creativity has no limits, will prepare the only volcanic pizza in the world! The pizza is created at the moment and baked in natural lava ovens whose temperature can exceed 700 degrees Celsius. Volcanic fumes are not toxic because there are no high sulfur levels. Cooking in these ovens makes the dish taste different and that the stone formed by the lava gives it such a special touch: tastier, crunchier and another flavor than a common pizza.
